The Visit Montgomery Team invites you on an exciting tour of Montgomery County, Maryland. Montgomery County is located on the northern border of Washington, D.C. and includes the exciting towns and urban districts of Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Pike and Rose, Silver Spring, Rockville and Gaithersburg. The county is home to 18 federal and a number of large corporate headquarters. We are a bustling community with a great mix of commerce with exceptional quality of life. Your tour includes visits to hotels, unique venues for special events and receptions, DC night tour, and excellent food and beer tastings.
Come join us for three days of fun filled activities or just participate in any selected portion of the tour that fits your schedule.
Day One: Wednesday, April 26, 2017
5:45pm: Meet in the lobby of the Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel & Executive Meeting Center.
6pm-9:30pm: Progressive evening tour
- Visit the newly renovated Bethesda Marriott Hotel.
- Next stop is the Doubletree Hotel Bethesda for a quick tour and hors d’oeuvres
- Then a visit to the newly renovated Hyatt Bethesda for a rooftop dinner.
- At dusk we will take you on a narrated driving tour to see the sights and sounds of our nation’s capital! Bring your cameras to snap some spectacular views of well-known monuments.
Day Two: Thursday, April 27, 2017 (Part 1)
8:30am: Meet in the Lobby of the Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel & Executive Meeting Center.
-Start the day with a stop at Montgomery County’s newest development the Pike and Rose District. The first D.C. area’s Canopy by Hilton will open in late 2017 here along with Pinstripes a unique entertainment venue combining exceptional cuisine, wine, bocce and bowling for private events from 20-600 people.
-From here you see the largest ballroom in Montgomery County at the Montgomery County Conference Center located at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel. www.pikeandrose.com
10:00am: Then we are off to see the bustling arts and entertainment district of downtown Silver Spring with stops at the Fillmore Silver Spring and the American Film Institute Silver Theatre and Cultural Center. Meeting venues in Silver Spring we will visit include the Silver Spring Civic Building, Doubletree Silver Spring and the Sheraton Silver Spring.
12:15pm: Board the luxury van and we’re off to see a surprising venue nestled on 83 acres, The William F. Bolger Center’s central location is an idea setting for business meetings offering a retreat like setting with 43 acres of gardens, nature trails and sports courts. The Bolger Center has 431 guest rooms and 70,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the largest in Montgomery County. The Bolger team will greet us and provide a tour with lunch.
1:45pm: Depart for next tour
We will finish the day with a tour of the Music Center at Strathmore. The Music Center sits on a scenic 11-acre site with breathtaking soaring glass walls and windows throughout the pre- function spaces. The interior of the Music Center has spectacular aesthetic appeal with natural wood making it warm and inviting to guests. The Music Center presents lively and diverse concerts, literary lectures, performing arts and private events throughout the year. www.strathmore.org
3:00pm: Depart for the Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel & Executive Meeting Center
Make your way back to the Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel & Executive Meeting Center via the Washington Metropolitan Region’s MetroRail Red Line for some rest and relaxation before our evening exploration begins.
Day Two: Thursday, April 27, 2017 (Part 2)
6:15pm: Meet in the Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel & Executive Meeting Center
Evening Visit to Rural Montgomery County
One of Montgomery County’s greatest assets is our mix of urban sophistication combined with country charm. One third of the county’s land mass is reserved as agricultural. Our Agricultural Reserve offers 90,000 acres complete with 577 farms and orchards, wineries and breweries, historic Civil War sites and hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. Day Three: Friday, April 28, 2017
8:15am: Depart the Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel & Executive Meeting Center
We will start with breakfast at one of our host hotels in Gaithersburg followed by some free time of shopping at the new Clarksburg Premium Outlets.
11:30am: Depart Clarksburg Premium Outlets
Lunch at a restaurant at RIO Washingtonian Center or Downtown Crown
The RIO Washingtonian Center, a waterfront retail and restaurant center, is located along a boardwalk with a trail and paddleboat rentals. Offered here are four Marriott branded hotels, the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center, The Courtyard by Marriott Washingtonian, The SpringHill Suites and the Residence Inn. http://www.riowashingtonian.com/
2:00pm: Return to Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel & Executive Meeting Center
